About Chim!

We are bringing Thai Street Food to Pasadena!

Chim! is a thai restaurant in Pasadena, California. It is listed at 910 Union St, Pasadena, CA 91106, which places it among the local businesses of Pasadena that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as restaurant, so it may cover more than the name suggests.

Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In Pasadena, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across California run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. Typical hours are 11 am–3 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (626) 796-3636. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, chimthai.com.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.3 out of 5 from 480 reviews, which is a strong result for a thai restaurant in Pasadena and suggests consistent service.

Pasadena is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Pasadena follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Came here on Monday afternoon. We brought our puppy here so we chose to eat in the patio. sun was low, so we were getting hit with the rays. Food came out in minutes Ordered a few things from the happy hour menu - fish cake, it’s ok - fried tofu, it’s ok - chicken wings, nice and crispy Tried their sausage which has a fermented taste to it, we liked it Pork belly with rice was alright Enjoyed the Gai zaap

Had a lovely lunch at Chim Thai Street Food today. The weather was perfect, so we sat outside and really enjoyed the cozy patio with all the greenery. Such a cute, inviting space. The food was excellent, and the portions are huge. We ordered a few favorites: veggie egg rolls, yellow chicken curry, kee mao chow mein, and the beef. Every dish was packed with flavor and honestly reminded us of Thai street food, but even better. We also had the chance to meet the owner, who was incredibly kind, and her son was adorable. That personal touch made the experience even more memorable. Overall, we’ll definitely be back. This is easily our new favorite Thai spot in Pasadena. Bonus: they have a small parking lot, which makes things so much easier.

The mango sticky rice and pork knuckle rice were delicious. The cold mixed noodles were also really good, but for people who haven’t tried them before, the sour taste might take a little getting used to. The drinks were great as well. I think the Thai milk tea would be even better if the tea flavor were a bit stronger, but of course that’s just my personal opinion.

I was craving Thai food and found this spot. So let’s see if they’re pretty good eh or ew. I got their crab ragoons, curry puffs, and chim gai zap to try. The crab ragoons were perfectly crisp, creamy, and not oily. Paired well with the sweet and sour sauce given. The curry puffs had a super beautiful flakey pastry and were stuffed with like this sweetly spiced mashed potato. And the chim gai zap MNM. Lightly crisp, tender, savory, spicy, slightly tangy chicken with onions and bright pops of basil. Deliciousity. Paired very really with the rice. Everything here worked together really well and was yummy. This place is pretty good. Chim gai zap $15.95 Ragoon $12.95 Curry puff $10.95

This is one of those little hole in the wall places that makes some bomb food! First time going and the food speaks for itself. It was delicious, full of flavor, and quick service. It’s a small place overall, the interior has room for at most 20 people and the small outdoor space probably another 15-20. The service was great and very friendly. We were served our appetizers within the first 5 minutes of being there and our main dishes maybe another 10 minutes later. The gyoza was great! My girlfriend had the Garlic & Pepper Beef which was great too, but my plate was so much better! I got the Braised Pork Hock which was incredible, the pork was so soft and the sweet & sour sauce they gave you was delicious! Will be going back!!
